About the Artist
Jade Dameon, also known as JDGrimsbane online, or simply JD, is a black disabled multimedia artist born and based in Eastern NC.
Born into a music-loving family, they began their artistic journey by learning to read and play music in the school band.
During high school JD learned basic woodworking, construction, and blueprint drawing.
This led to stone masonry and finally welding and fabrication in college.
After becoming disabled during their adolescence, a new worldview opened for them.
Despite what their body could no longer do, they could still be a part of the creative process.
Their love of video games, tinkering, and affinity for tools steered them towards computer engineering.
There they learned how to build computers, rewire electrical systems, and even program industrial machinery.
They're currently expanding their knowledge of different art forms to better incorporate their previous endeavors into something new.
